Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the right local company gets your request
- Which room needs the window, and whether it's meant to be a bedroom
- Your foundation type if you know it: poured concrete, block, stone or brick
- Whether the basement is finished, and roughly how far below the ground outside the floor sits
- Any inspector, appraiser or home inspection note that mentions egress
